Conference on Languages: Foreign languages and tourism 26.01.2015

Tell me a Story was presented at the Conference on Languages at the University of Applied Sciences Eisenstadt/Austria on May 15th, 2014.

Tell Me A Story develops foreign language learning material based on stories from the project regions within the frame of the levels A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Story-telling is specified in linguistics as a category in communcation and discours for languages for specific purposes.

The developed material has been based on communicative structures, for that reason the stories have been transferred into dialogues for an easier web-implemenation. For each project language a lesson planning chart and respective types of exercises have been developed, such as Scrumbling, Matching, Filling-in-gaps, Antonymes und Flash Cards.

The foreign language material provides two products: On one side the Tell me a Story - Book containing the original stories with the aim to promote the reading competence as well as intercultural skills, on the other side web-based exercises on the learning space of the project website for foreign language learning.
